Countdown

Hey, I'm back...but just to acknowledge that, as of this past Saturday, we are exactly six months away from the 2009 Twin Cities Breast Cancer 3-Day. Six months...26 weeks...182 days. (But who's counting?)

The 3-Day Getting Started meetings are...well...getting started. And new participants are beginning what will be one of the most inspirational experiences they will ever have. (Wait til those newbies get a load of the closing ceremonies, shown in the photo!)

This will be my sixth consecutive Twin Cities 3-Day and while the reasons why I continue to return to the event change from year to year, whenever I hear the radio or TV ads for the 3-Day, I still get the same chills up and down my spine.

For those of you who have been kind enough to follow me on the road to the 3-Day via this blog over the past couple of years, you know that this is only the beginning. I'll be sharing stories and my personal thoughts over the next several months, not all of which may actually have anything to do with breast cancer or the 3-Day or walking mile after mile after mile...I do tend to wander off the beaten path on occasion.

And just as a reminder, I'm not in "training" yet. There's plenty of time for that. Like after all the snow and ice disappears from the frozen tundra we call home in Minnesota.

For now, all I'll say is that "we're ba-ack!"

P.S. As of today, only 180 days to go!
